Trigger points are irritable spots located within tight bands of muscle fibers (also known as “knots”). During the trigger point injection procedure, our medical professional will insert a needle directly into the problem area and inject a local anesthetic in addition to anti-inflammatory medication to render the trigger point inactive. The injection takes only a few minutes, and many patients report that they experience immediate pain relief.  For patients who are allergic to the substances used in trigger point injections, we can use a dry-needle technique.
